Testimonials

Jeremy Beard WSF & R

A familiar old saying springs to mind “ Do what you’ve always done and you will get what you have always got”. Well in West Sussex we are doing something different and getting something very different from the young people we work with, they love the stuff GYHRI produces. Together with GYHRI we are creating that very environment that is both educational and inspirational for the young people we work with and I believe this will change lives for the better and hopefully reduce the number of tragedies that have become all too familiar.

Phil Smith - PSHCE

The great new Key Stage 2 resources from GYHRI present a unique opportunity to both support childrens personal social development and develop a deeper understanding of key issues in wider society and of the world they are growing up in. The innovative approach, using puppets with the voices of real children, with classroom support materials sensitively explore the issues of bullying, transition/moving on, emotional wellbeing and financial management. It directly links with Units in the KS 2 PSHE and Citizenship curriculum and gives excellent opportunities for developing both pupils learning skills and skills for life.

Thelma Walker

Steve's presentation this morning was outstanding. He managed to convey some very serious issues in a lively and engaging way which involved all children and adults. I know the resource materials will be integrated within our PHSCE programme throughout school.I hope Steve and his puppet friends will return soon! Thelma Walker Headteacher

Ami Patel - PHI & R

John Rees - PSHCE

I have to admit to some scepticism when approached by the ‘Puppet Broadcast Company’ (Sooty & Sweep do SRE? – I don’t think so!) but I was bowled over by the potential of the GYHRI puppets to engage young people in discussion by depicting real-live situations but providing the safety of distancing techniques in a way that actors simply could not do.

Janet Reid - Teacher

I applied for membership in July as you know and am finding it very useful- the kids love it. Janet Reid Head of Guidance Northfield School & Sports College
