About Phil

Phil has a background of over 30 years in education, with more than 20 years in school improvement work, including seven as a Link Adviser/Inspector for primary and secondary settings, working on leadership and management, learning and teaching, achievment standards and M&E.

With a central role in whole child and Every Child Matters development, he had County responsibility for PSHE, Citizenship, Race Equality and SMSC. He managed the Healthy Schools, Drug Education, and Citizenship/PSHE Teams.

The great new Key Stage 2 resources to be launched in September 2009, from GYHRI present a unique opportunity to both support childrens personal social development and develop a deeper understanding of key issues in wider society and of the world they are growing up in. The innovative approach, using puppets with the voices of real children, with classroom support materials sensitively explore the issues of bullying, transition/moving on, emotional wellbeing and financial management. It directly links with Units in the KS 2 PSHE and Citizenship curriculum and gives excellent opportunities for developing both pupils learning skills and skills for life.
