About Chris
Since May 2006, Chris Hackworth has been a Learning and Improvement Consultant for Children and Young People based in the East Midlands. He has worked with schools and colleges in the East Midlands as well as national organisations such TDA, SSAT, QCA and NFER. Previously he was a School Improvement Adviser for Leicestershire Local Authority. During this time he was a Link Adviser for both Primary and Secondary schools and led a successful programme using the ‘Investors in People’ Standard as a tool for school improvement. He has been an OSTED Inspector for many years and has led secondary inspections as a Registered Inspector as well as being a team member for primary inspections. Earlier experience includes many years as a teacher and leader in schools in Luton and West Bromwich as well significant experience within an education foundation, higher education and a government department
Involvements
Chris has reviewed and re-wrote our careers resource to incorporate the various changes within the subject area. Preparing lesson plans and project briefs for the GYHRI production team

The need to be well prepared for future education and career choices could not be more important in the current economic climate. The new careers education and guidance learning resources are linked directly to the new secondary curriculum and give students and teachers a lively, relevant and enjoyable sequence of learning opportunities which can be used at Key Stages 3 and 4 and post 16 to both engage and challenge students to plan for their well-being in the present and the future.
