About Steve

With over ten years experience of producing & delivering educational material live to more than 100,000 children in schools and other youth venues across the UK, using streetwise puppets as a unique and entertaining engagement tool. I was proud to be honoured by Her Majesty the Queen as a UK pioneer for my contribution to youth education. Further national and international recognition was also achieved with our partnership with Billy Elliot the Musical in London, Sydney and New York, with whom we make the puppets for the show and train the casts in puppetry skills.

Since forming The Puppet Broadcasting Company in 2006 with a long standing colleague, George Brown, we have opened a brand new film studio and workshop, where we have produced, developed and launched our online educational resource, Get Your Head Round It. This resource is now widely used across the UK. Further recognition of our work has been achieved by being shortlisted at the 30th Sky Arts and Business awards in London (Oct 2008).

The Get Your Head Round It website has also been short listed for the prestigious Yorkshire Insider Digital Awards 2009, for the following categories: Best E Learning Initiative & Best Entertainment Site. To be held on the 7th May 2009....Fingers crossed!
